NGenTec
NGenTec was a start up business formed out of University of Edinburgh research. With a substantial amount of investment capital they set about to design and build a 1MW 7m diameter direct drive generator based on their C-Gen design.
Fountain Design Ltd was involved right from the beginning offering advice on both design and materials. FDL set about training suppliers to handle rare earth magnets and to mould coils in epoxy resin. Having supervised the manufacture FDL work closely with David Brown Gears to assemble & test the machine at their Huddersfield factory.
